Overview
Experience an unforgettable day in the heart of the Loire Valley as you explore three of its most iconic châteaux Chambord, Chenonceau, and Cheverny accompanied by your expert guide.
Depart from central Paris at 9:15 a.m. aboard a comfortable air‑conditioned coach and begin your journey to the Château de Chambord. After a 1 hour and 15 minute drive, you’ll enter the forest of Fontainebleau and soon see the majestic silhouette of the largest château in the Loire Valley. With priority access, step inside this architectural masterpiece built during the reign of François I, with contributions from Leonardo da Vinci. Follow your guide through several rooms and ascend the famous double‑revolution staircase to reach the panoramic terrace, where you’ll enjoy sweeping views of the estate while learning about the château’s remarkable history.
Your day continues with a scenic drive through the Loire Valley’s rolling landscapes toward the Château de Chenonceau. As you approach via a beautiful tree‑lined driveway, admire the fairy‑tale setting of this elegant residence, known as the “Ladies’ Castle” for the influential women who shaped its history. During your one‑hour guided tour, explore its furnished and flower‑filled rooms, tapestries, and period paintings, while your guide shares stories and anecdotes that highlight the château’s unique feminine legacy and its embodiment of French art de vivre.
After the visit, enjoy free time to stroll through the remarkable gardens along the Cher River and have lunch at your leisure, your guide will recommend dining options. You will then meet your guide at the coach to continue to the final château of the day: Cheverny.
At Cheverny, a seigneurial residence inhabited by the same family for over 600 years, discover beautifully preserved interiors and explore the estate’s park and six themed gardens, including the orchard‑inspired Jardin Sucré. Known for its tradition of hunting with hounds, Cheverny also features an impressive kennel home to around one hundred dogs.
Your coach will depart Cheverny around 5:00 p.m., returning to central Paris at approximately 8:00 p.m.
