Overview
Part of the original Canongate Tolbooth built in 1591, the medieval building that now houses the Tolbooth Tavern was once used to collect tolls from travellers entering the burgh at the Canongate. One of the oldest pubs in Edinburgh, the Tolbooth Tavern is a cosy traditional Scottish pub full of character and charm with a prime location on the Royal Mile.
Showcasing local produce, the two of you will get to sample some of the tavern’s favourite dishes. Tuck into the likes of MacSween’s haggis bon bons with whisky cream sauce, smoked salmon with Scottish oatcakes, freshly landed hand-battered mini fish ’n’ chips and a traditional Scottish dessert Cranachan of raspberries, whisky, cream and oats.
