Overview

The tour starts on the Parvis Droits de l'Homme (the Human Rights plaza), where you’ll take in the most breathtaking views of the tower. We’ll start walking towards the tower as we set the context about the World Fairs and the deeper meanings behind the Tower.

As we continue our walk, we’ll look out for some other prominent World Fair buildings, and explore the unique meaning behind each one. We’ll discover local open-air artwork and walk through a square that holds the memory of one of the significant milestones in our modern history.

We’ll cross the Pont d’Iena and stop to spot some other famous Parisian landmarks. This is also where we’ll learn more about the man who gave the Tower its name: Gustave Eiffel. We’ll delve into some controversy about the Tower’s early history, learn about its fight for survival (it was built as a temporary structure) and discover how it has been able to adapt and reinvent itself over the past 130 years.

Next, we’ll wind through some backstreets as Alice shows you the most instagram-able spot to take in the tower - one that few tourists will know about. We’ll discover some fun anecdotes and learn about the Tower’s more recent developments. As we approach the Tower, we’ll give you a quick quiz to test whether you’ve been listening!

See the City of Lights in all its glory and witness the tower as it sparkles at the stroke of a new hour. The tour ends at the base of the Tower, so you’ll be free to either queue for the ride to the top, or continue walking down the Champs de Mars, where we can learn about another famous French icon - Napoleon!

The Vidi Guides experience is enriched with on-screen photos and videos. We also point out where to take the perfect Instagram photos during the tour, and include recommendations for food, drinks, and local attractions. Don't worry, none of our recommendations are sponsored - they are simply favourites of the locals who helped craft the experience.
